Brittany Noethen on Fashion

I haven’t seen Julie and Julia yet, actually I didn’t have any interest on watching the film until I learned that Amy Adams is one of the main casts. My boyfriend tells me she looks more of Isla Fischer which I seconded. Comparing the two, I must admit I adore Amy more. I loved her charm in Enchanted and her versatile acting always keeps me fascinated. Her last role as Amelia Earheart in Battle of Smithsonian was also astounding.

I like her because I think we have many things in common. We’re not that tall but she looks more than beautiful to all her gowns and outfits. We both have baby faces and we love taking fashion risks. Who says being vertically challenged can’t be fashionable? You don’t even need to have a stylist like Heidi Klum, a piece of confidence, proper blend of make up and right combination of clothes is all you need.

I was on my way to having my beauty rest last night, my moisturizing cream was on, my bed made and just adding some final touches to my Facebook when I came across “The 15 sexiest make up look of all time.”  With my curiosity kicking again, I couldn’t help but take a look; taken from allure.com.

Among those mentioned are ;smoky eyes, glossy nude lips, dewy skin or simply faking the glow with powder highlighter, sexy red lips, gold shadow to make the eyes glisten, full lashes; thanks to fake ones, flushed cheeks; the secret to applying blush on, rose-bitten lips made by sheer colored lipstick or balm, strong brows just like Brook Shields, Kohl-rimmed eyes courtesy of vixens and rock goddesses, bronzed skin using golden brown powder bronzer, winged liner just like that of Amy Winehouse, soft peach make up, contoured cheeks and lastly shimmery brown shadow. I think I’ll be picking some on these but the rest are not just my taste.

It was just lately when I discovered Yahoo Shine. Their articles do not just add substance to my lessons as an online teacher but I learn a great deal of information to health, fashion, love, food etc. Have not I read their article about hair removal techniques, I would not dare try waxing my own body. The result is favorable and less hair makes my skin more flawless I guess. It is not even painful just like what I used to imagine.

I feel more comfortable to wear miniskirts, short jeans and of course bikini, especially when it is summer. It is also where I learned some make up tips and their list of beauty blunders made me cautious of deciding whether to try a new hairstyle or not, of course depending on what the best tips have to offer. I salute the people behind this website along with all the contributors. Shine on!

I remember knowing what BFF means from my former room mate. With her loving Paris Hilton, you couldn’t ask why. Actually, I have nothing against Paris except for her partying, sex tapes, DUI, the infamous love interests, and lastly her reality show about BFF, phew! Anyway, I love my room mate even though she’s one of the most shopaholic people I know. She believes that “Whoever says money can’t buy happiness doesn’t know how to shop.”  It’s not really her own line but from a Gossip Girl character that she also adores. Her mind has been corrupted with Hollywood blitz. She has a great obsession with clothes and jewelry. One of her BFFs includes her collection of watches and heart pendants. I used to tell her to take shopping easily, playing devil’s advocate on her shopping spree but now that she’s in a faraway land, I’m not just missing a buddy but a BFF in some way.

I guess I was pretty much occupied by the last movie that I watched; GI Joe, the Rise of Cobra is. It’s not just the brunette Sienna Miller or the red haired Rachel Nichols that I noticed but the hotness of the main actor, Channing Tatum. I was first mesmerized with this dancing buff in the movie Step Up where he found not just a dance partner but a real dance partner in life, his wife Jenna Dewan. The next thing I’m looking on the internet is their wedding pictures, themed like a fairy tale event. It’s no longer new, I’ve seen a lot of wedding with unique themes and ideas. The most intriguing part on the other hand would be the wedding cake with the bride and groom in fairy wings acting horny. They said it was all Jen’s idea. I also love her gown, which is just perfect. The picture from people.com shows how happy the couple is. If I were Jen, it’s definitely a fairy tale come true for bagging such man.

One of my ways to kill time is to go for Hollywood websites and be like an insider. Aside from watching my ultimate favorite TMZ on TV there are a lot more websites that keep my boredom away in between work. I also like visiting people.com and see their Style Watch poll, a survey that includes “who wears it better” and “celebrity hit or miss.”

It’s where I get updates on some fashion trends as well, from the most popular red carpet events to celebrity mug shots courtesy of those invincible paparazzi. It’s also where I get some fashion advice especially when it comes to accessories and shoes. It’s surprising to see both beautiful people wearing the same clothes. It’s also in them where I can instantly see fashion faux pas especially with their shoes and accessories. You see, no matter how gorgeous you are or how flaunting your dress maybe, if you’re not wearing matching shoes and accessories, they are all plain sucks.

Who does not know Susan Boyle’s fever? It was in Britain’s Got Talent where everyone got to know her angelic super voice along with her not so good looks. It was last April when the craze has started to grace the covers of magazines and internet sites; she lost though, made it to the second place. After that, she became quiet and stayed away from lime light. This is I guess because I couldn’t see her anymore in my usual net surfing.

It was just yesterday when I saw her featured in the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar. I was really awed by her amazing make over. From her hair, makeup, shoes and clothes, everything seems superficial to me. To see is to believe, just like what I used to watch in Ambush Make Over, all it needs is just some piece of expert and the rest would be magic.

I love celebrities and their sunglasses. Among them, I love to see Gwen Stefani, Victoria Beckham and Beyonce Knowles. Lady Gaga looks also good in shades but I can’t stand her fashion sense at all.  I adore big and funky shades, to me the bigger the better.  They don’t just come in trendy but ultimate protection as well.

I feel like being protected from the judgmental eyes of some people and my eyes have their refuge from the harmful rays of the sun. I still remember the time I got depressed when I left my Versace shades in a cab from work. It took me a whole week to recover from my grief. I got them from Tokyo and I couldn’t find any replacement similar to what I lost. Sunglasses are also summer essentials just like sun block lotions. My maxim, sun block reduces aging and shades add style to my outfit.

I’ve got natural super straight long black hair that every hair stylist envy whenever I have them trimmed. Hair relaxing, rebonding and other sort of hair treatments are simply inutile for me. I don’t remember having them dyed, tousled nor curled. I’ve tried having bangs though, but aside from different hair cuts I never seek for further hairstyles. I was tempted many times but I always dreaded dyes for they might ruin my natural glossy hair or maybe I was just chicken to try something new. It’s fun to know that even hairstyles have evolved.

Now we don’t just have emo people and fashion, but emo hairstyles as well. Kristen Stewart traded her long black hair to a mullet upon filming The Runways, which made her one of the most searched fashionistas in Hollywood. There were also Rihanna, Kate Gossein, Jennifer Aniston and even the bob cat cute, Selena Gomez and Katie Holmes. As for me, I’d rather stick with the natural though I’m ready for some tousling during night outs and parties.

Some people around me say it’s high time I got pregnant. I can’t blame them because I’m on my late twenties, a couple more years I’d be 30. But then, just like what I told them, I’m not ready yet and there would be right time for that. I love babies, they are adorable, super cute and they can really melt your heart. I also enjoy shopping for my nephew and nieces but to think that I won’t be working for like a year or more scares me; that’s the bottom line. Just this afternoon, I was reading the baby boom in TV.

A lot of Hollywood artists are expecting and it’s really nice to see how they carry those baby bumps in a fashionable manner. Heidi Klum for example still stands out with her super stretchy black dress and she also advised aspiring moms to be to wear something fitting than look like a tent with those loose maternity dresses. I agree with her because I just love wearing fitted clothes. I think loose clothes are out and fit clothes are in.
